Wood Blood is a suite of 10 orchestral pieces, designed as an explorative and foundational concept-album under the alias Celine Rightman™.
The opus is characterised by its non-linear form, constantly meandering through themes, tones and tempo, only ever driven by the unpredictable flow of feral curiosity.
Imbued with the Spirit and Nature of the British Isles, Wood Blood takes the audience on a whimsical and fluid flight path through a musical landscape of forests and meadows, drawing inspiration from Vaughan Williams to Mike Oldfield and Elgar, among other fellow islanders.
Born in the early days of the pandemic, Wood Blood is a solo project by circumstance and necessity. It took no less than 919 days over 5 years to compose and produce, one instrument and one track at a time, from the very first note to the last mastering session.
The album derives its name from the 6 instruments involved - violin, viola, cello, piano, clarinet, xylophone - which are all made of wood and whose metaphorical bloods irrigate the beating heart of the music.
